Locos

I've created a number of pages that show previous work done, currently on my work bench is...

Wrexham Shropshire & Marylebone Railway - DVT

Yes, I know that strictly speaking a DVT is not a locomotive!

To accompany one of the Class 67s I've completed earlier, (see Gallery), I thought I'd tackle one of WSMR's DVTs.

To start I obtained a Hornby Inter City DVT from eBay,

Taking it apart is dead easy, the next step was to prime in Halfords Grey primer, then spray in matt balck as a base for the metallic coats,

I'm using the excellent Alclad metallic paints. These are used extensively by aero modellers and can be only applied by airbrush,

The DVT is half aluminium, half steel, so lets get the rear lighter colour on first,

It does produce a highly realistic metallic sheen.
